Go Beyond Women’s Safety When Focusing On Solo Female Travel

April 20, 2026

Women want more than just safety and ease when traveling, and many are searching for something deeper.

In order to create experiences and properly guide women travelers, we first need to understand why they are traveling… or why they are so desperate to get away.

They aren’t just looking for a change of scenery; they are turning to travel for clarity, connection, purpose, and soul-searching.

They’re tired, overwhelmed, and burned out.

They are juggling various roles, wearing many hats, and carrying a heavy emotional load.

Whether they are navigating life transitions, career shifts, or wellness journeys, these women are looking for answers.

This isn’t every woman, but it’s a lot of them… and it’s exactly why the solo female traveler market and the women’s travel industry are on the rise.

Reimagining the Way We Design Experiences

So, the question remains: Are we designing experiences differently for them?

In a traditional industry, travelers are often placed into old-school categories like luxury, adventure, cruises, or wellness.

Their itineraries are curated based on general demographics rather than their desired feelings or life outcomes.

To truly serve the modern woman, we have to ask:

  • Are we asking meaningful questions to better understand their emotional needs?
  • Are we treating their experience as a personal journey rather than just a vacation?
  • Are we meeting them where they are in their life, or are we waiting for them to “get the idea” to take a trip?

Travel as an Intentional Tool for Transformation

Travel is far too beneficial to be treated as a mere “getaway” or a quick fix.

Especially for women, travel is a powerful, intentional tool for healing, personal growth, and reaching life goals.

We need to move beyond just focusing on what is most “lucrative” for the industry and start combining travel with the things that actually matter to our clients: mindset work, professional development, grief processing, ancestral connection, and trauma recovery.

Instead of celebrating when we sell an expensive, luxurious trip, we should be celebrating the transformations and breakthroughs that those trips brought to the women taking them.

Join a Movement of Intentional Travel

There’s a reason why women hold travel in such a special place in their hearts.

At The Travel Coach Network, our community has organically grown to over 95% women.

This speaks volumes about the connection women have to travel as a means for being, feeling, and living their best lives.

Our members are inspiring and empowering others to navigate life’s challenges through intentional journeys.

Think of it as life or wellness coaching meets travel.
