What Makes the Travel Coach Certification Program Different From Other Travel Programs?

September 3, 2024

So, you’ve been thinking about starting the Travel Coach Certification Program.

But something’s stopping you.

Maybe you’re considering a few different programs, and you’re wondering what makes the Travel Coach Certification Program stand out.

If so, then you’re in the right place, because we’re breaking it all down here.

I’ve helped hundreds of travel coaches find their why as part of the Travel Coach Certification Program.

1. The focus is on travel coaching rather than planning.

Other programs focus on things like how to become a travel agent, how to sell travel, how to market travel, how to book wellness experiences and more.

Again, there are so many different types of programs out there, but a lot of them focus on the travel agent industry.

The first factor that sets the Travel Coach Certification Program apart is that it focuses on travel coaching instead of planning and booking a trip.

We teach our members about how to coach someone along their journey with their travels, diving deeper into why they want to travel, and how they can use travel as a tool to heal, grow, learn, connect and more.

Travel, as we all know, is transformative.

It is impactful, it is meaningful, and it can really benefit our lives, our well-being, our relationships, our professional lives and more, depending on the travel coach and what you focus on, which is something the program helps you figure out.

Of course, many travel agents and advisors do incorporate travel coaching into their services and their businesses, which is absolutely incredible.

The Travel Coach Network has welcomed so many travel agents and advisors over the past few years, and we are proud to offer professional development opportunities for these individuals through travel coach training, which is all about that added level of service that you give.

It’s that human aspect of the travel industry and working with your clients and providing these experiences that really transform their lives.

2. It is the only ICF accredited travel coaching program.

The Travel Coach Certification Program is the only certification program for travel coaches that is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and is recognized internationally, but it also focuses a lot on how to build your business.

The business development aspect and resources are vital components of the program.

Not only do we teach you what it means to be a travel coach and to combine your passions, interests and travel expertise but we also go over how to build a business.

The program covers questions like:

  • What do you need?
  • How do you start?
  • What’s important?
  • Where should you spend money? Where should you not spend money?

3. We embrace community & offer direct guidance from the founder.

The community aspect is one of the most appealing benefits of the program for many of our members. This is where you are going to get that added guidance, accountability, and support from not only the community but from me, the instructor, as well. I value mentorship and guidance, which is why I’ve included them in the Travel Coach Certification Program and the TCN communities.

We also host live ongoing group trainings in the certification program, where we expand on hot topics like wellness travel, pitching to the media to spread your travel message, and how to get quoted in major outlets like Travel Weekly or Fodors.

If you’re wondering about what makes me qualified to offer guidance and insight to you all, here is a peek into what showing up consistently in both of my businesses has done for me over the past four years:

  • By mastering my own messaging and being my truest self, I have been featured and mentioned in over 120 + media outlets such as Forbes, Business Insider, Conde Nast Traveler, National Geographic India, Travel Weekly, the Travel with Meaning podcast, and more.
  • My wellness travel coaching business has provided me with free trips and paid speaking gigs for events and companies like ProcureCon Travel, the Global Business Travel Association, the Global Workplace Wellness Summit, Women in Travel and Hospitality, and many others.

Everything that I’ve learned and experienced through building my businesses is what I include in the modules, trainings and opportunities in the Travel Coach Certification Program.

4. We encourage authentic and unique business building.

If you want to make money authentically in your business using your own stories, experiences, expertise and deep belief in travel, this program is for you.

If you want to stand out among other travel professionals and add an extra layer of depth to your services, your messaging, your experiences and more, this program is for you.

If you want to become a part of the changing times in the travel industry, the part that embodies transformation, mindfulness, human connection, storytelling, authenticity and hyper-personalization, this program is for you.

If you want to gain a sense of belonging in the Travel Coach Network, where we have the shared value of mindful travel, the understanding that travel is healing and that it can transform you, and the belief that a travel experience stems far beyond just the itinerary and the planning, this program is for you.

5. We challenge industry conventions.

If you’re falling into the old ways of “selling travel”, you are going to struggle to attract new clients, keep your repeat clients, and really grow your business in the new year. Incorporating travel coaching and joining the Travel Coach Certification Program and the Travel Coach Network community is going to help set you apart and understand that you’re not actually selling travel. I did an episode on the podcast about why we don’t sell travel and it’s not actually a thing, which you can listen to here

You must inject creativity and flexibility and your true purpose and reason for why you love to travel into your business. The travel industry is still struggling to realize that there is far more to a travel career than just planning and booking a trip. We all value travel for very personal and very unique reasons.

Let’s face it, the travel agent industry is a very highly saturated industry. You will struggle if you continue to try to find your niche like everyone else, choose a brand to focus on like everyone else, “sell” experiences, or “sell” trips or “sell” a destination like everyone else.

This is not the future of travel.

This is not the future of how people are going to buy or choose or opt into anything in the travel industry.

You have to get personal.

You have to get meaningful.

You have to get authentic in your messaging.

And remember, starting and growing a business isn’t easy, but when you join the Travel Coach Network and the Travel Coach Certification Program, you are not building your business alone. We have the support, accountability, mentorship and guidance that you need and deserve to help you along in your entrepreneurial journey.
